We welcome children to the practice and encourage regular visits from an early age. This gives us and your child the opportunity to get to know one another so they can feel at ease at all times. This also allows us to monitor your childs dental development, encourage good home care and instil a positive attitude toward life.

Hygiene

At every visit, we check to see that your child is cleaning their teeth correctly. Should we be concerned then our hygienists are best placed to give hygiene instruction and cleaning.

Fissure Sealing

When childrens permanent teeth erupt, we may recommend sealing the grooves on their back teeth with fissure sealants. This is like painting the grooves to protect them from developing tooth decay.

Orthodontics

We will monitor your childs development and when the time is right we can refer them to the local orthodontist for assessment.

Our TOP TIPS for children

• Regular visits are essential – we will advise you on how often you should attend.
• You must supervise brushing – Twice a day for 2 minutes.
• Avoid Sugary Snacks– choose healthy snacks.
• Watch out for sugary drinks, this includes fruit juices – rinse mouth out with water immediately afterwards to clear the mouth of sugar and acid.
• For baby bottles – never put a sugary drink or fruit juice in a bottle. Water or milk is fine.
